Welcome to the memorial page for

Jewel B Kearley

October 14, 1924 ~ January 11, 2018 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Jewel B. Kearley went home to be with the Lord at the age of 93 years on January 11. Jewel was born to John & Alice Hammonds on October 14, 1924, in Alexandria, Alabama, where her life of being raised on a simple family farm taught her humility and perseverance, traits which she imparted to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Neal B. Kearley, her son, John D. "Johnny" Kearley, and sister, Ella Kate Baswell. Jewel accepted the Lord at the age of 30 years and was not afraid to share her faith with others. Many people came to the saving grace and knowledge of the Lord because of Jewel's testimony. Her zeal to share the love of Jesus to any she came across was unmatched. Jewel loved and cherished her family,  and she also enjoyed beyond measure being with her brothers and sisters in Christ at her church, First Baptist Church, Niceville. She had served there for decades as a Sunday School teacher, Sharing and Caring  volunteer, teaching ESL classes to internationals in the area, sang in Adult Choir, Senior Adult Choir, and a host of other things.

Jewel is survived by her son Bruce and his wife Jody Kearley of McDonough, GA, daughter LuAnne and her husband Bruce Williams of Crestview; grandchildren David Kearley of Atlanta, GA, Michael and Melissa Kearley of Crestview, Julie and Andy Lamb of Knoxville, TN, John and Emily Williams of Owensboro, KY. She is survived by great grandchildren Maylin and Kendall Kearley, soon-to-be-born, Maddax Kearley; and Murray and JB Williams. Jewel is also survived by her brother, Robert Hammonds and his wife, Elaine of Anniston, AL. She is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

The family truly appreciates the love and prayers of so many within her church family, as well as friends from across the decades. She loved all of you more than you could imagine; she loved you with the love of Christ.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, at 12:00 pm, and services will follow at 1:00. Graveside service will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Valparaiso.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things.. I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord." Matthew 25:21
