Jimmy S Brewer

Jimmy “Jim” Brewer, age 77, of Mossy Head, FL passed away on March 26, 2017.  He was born in Butler County, AL to Wilson and Alline Powell Brewer. Survivors include his wife, Malinda Shelley Brewer of Mossy Head, FL; sister, Jane Russell-Carr of Greenville, AL and several nephews, nieces and cousins.  Jim attended Greenville High School in Greenville, AL and also attended and graduated from Electronic Trade School in Atlanta, GA.  He took courses in architectural drafting and design at OWCC in Niceville, FL.  He won several first place awards in the Homebuilder’s Association Annual Parade of Homes.  He was featured on the cover of Professional Builder for a project in Bluewater Bay.  Before starting his own construction company, Jim served in the US Navy as an Electronics Tech on the Robert E. Lee Nuclear Submarine. Jim enjoyed reading, chess, traveling, and teaching Sunday School at Grace Community Church where he served as an Elder and Teacher. 

There will be a visitation from 11 am – 12:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 Partin Drive North, Niceville.  The funeral service will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Crowder Chapel Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to; Grace Community Church, 1287 Laird Road, Crestview, FL 32539, or Emerald Coast Hospice, 550 W. Redstone Ave, Ste 310, Crestview, Fl 32536. The family would like to extend a big “Thank You”, to our special caregiver/angel Julie Elio and all the wonderful people at Emerald Coast Hospice.
