During my senior year at the University of West Florida in 1975, I was given the wonderful opportunity to do my student teaching under Nancy Ray's guidance. She was so gracious in entrusting me with her sixth grade class for one semester. Nancy was extremely supportive and nurturing of me. I learned so much about motivating and energizing students from her. She was an amazingly talented and popular educator. Although my career in education only lasted six years, I carried much of what I learned from Nancy into my various management positions in the business world.
I also have fond memories of a wonderful dinner at Nancy and Mauri's lovely home.
Nancy will always occupy a special place in my heart.

It was my pleasure to have worked with Nancy at Mary Esther Elementary School. Nancy was a super teacher, and it was amazing to see the number of former students that would return to visit with her. May she Rest in Peace.
