Robert W Kelley, Jr

Robert Kelley, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9th at his home in Niceville, Fla. He died due to complications with lymphoma. 

Robert Wilson Kelley, Jr. was born in Clinton, OK on July 14th, 1930 to Robert W. Kelley and Ruby Ennis Kelley. He grew up in Clinton Oklahoma and San Diego, CA before entering the United States Army Air Corps in 1946. Later the Army Air Corps evolved into the US Air Force. Robert was a member of the Air Force and served 28 years with tours in Austria, Korea, Okinawa, Vietnam, Thailand and various bases in Florida. He retired, in 1973, as a CMSGT after serving as base Sergeant Major at Eglin’s Hurlburt Field. 

Bob later served on the Elgin Credit Union Board of Directors and owned his own business in Niceville for a number of years. He resided with his family until his death in his Niceville residence. He was married to Joyce Lee of Guerneville, CA in 1951. They were happily married for sixty-five years and had eight children.

 Bob was preceded in death by his son Thomas Aldon Kelley who died in 1981.  Survivors include seven children; Douglas Kelley(Marjorie), Atlanta, GA, Patricia Kelley Michalek(John), Lilburn, GA, David Kelley(Cristina), Las Cruces NM, Robert Kelley III(Reita), Foley, AL, Dennis Kelley, Tallahassee, FL, Keith Kelley, Niceville, FL, Kevin Kelley(Linda), Hope Valley, RI, sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
