William “Bill” Bridge of Niceville Florida passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday January the second. He was born on December 27, 1928 in Hazardville Connecticut, the son of Alexander and Ada Bridge. He is survived by Charlotte Bridge, his wife of over 60 years, sister, Marjorie Nadeau of Connecticut, son, Matthew, daughter Amy, grandchildren Sara Haidu, Melanie Morris, Joshua, Rachael Marzette, Rebekah, 10 greatgrandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill separated from the USAF in 1952 as a Technical Sergeant. During his time in the Air Force he supported and witnessed two nuclear bomb shots in Eniwetok as part of Operation Greenhouse. He then worked at Pratt and Whitney, testing their engines for 37 years. Following his retirement in 1989, he moved to be near family in Niceville. During his busy retirement, he was active with golfing, and engaged with the Masons, Shrine, Elks, as well as many charitable functions. His hands were never idle as he also spent any available time working woodcrafts for local fairs. He was a lifelong member of Niceville Crosspoint Church.
