Arlie W Harris

Arlie Warren Harris passed away April 20, 2017 at the age of 95 in Niceville, FL. Arlie was born on November 13, 1921 and has been a 52 year  resident of Niceville, FL. As a teen, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for 3 years,  then served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  For the next 35 years, he worked for Civil Services, the last 15 of which he served as carpenter at the Eglin AFB Hospital.

Arlie married Mary Lee Skipper on March 17, 1947. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. The couple has 2 daughters. Through the years, Arlie has been extremely active and a deacon in his church and signed as a charter member of Palm Chapel Primitive Baptist in Crestview. Arlie was a nurseryman, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and helped out at the senior center in Seminole.

Arlie is survived by his wife Mary Lee and daughters Beverly Barbarisi (Dennis) and Sharron Land; adored granddaughters Keely Hall, Shanna Jenkins, and Hollie Huber; and 3 precious great grandchildren, Karlee Jenkins, Charlie Huber, and Carter Huber.

Visitation is at Heritage Gardens in Niceville, FL from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on April 23, 2017. Funeral service is at Heritage Gardens in Niceville, FL on April 24, 2017 at 10:30 am.
