Carol Ann Lord

Mrs. Carol Ann Crooke Lord died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, peacefully surrounded by family in her home on the The Hill in Mossy Head, Florida at the age of 68.

Carol is survived by her husband Larry Lord of Mossy Head, Florida; son Lucas Lord of Mossy Head, Florida; daughter Lindy Lord Hayes and her husband Andy Hayes and their children Elaina, Angel & Kevin of Niceville, Florida; son Wesley Lord and his son Caiden of Pensacola, Florida; Her mother Theresa Crooke of Pensacola, Florida; her brother James Joseph Crooke III and his wife Deborah of Mossy Head, Florida; sister Deena Crooke of Pensacola, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her father James Joseph Crooke Jr. of Pensacola, Florida.

Carol was born on December 26, 1948, in Gainesville, Florida to Jim and Theresa Crooke. She graduated from Pensacola High School, University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, and Pensacola Junior College as a Registered Nurse. 

Carol married Larry Lord on Valentine’s Day 1976. They quickly had their three beautiful children and began to teach them about faith in their Lord Jesus, love of family and friends, and the gift of music and how share all of these things with others.

To have known Carol was to love her. Carol was an inspiration and blessing to all who had the privilege to know her. She was a woman after God’s own heart. Her faith, eternal. Her love for others, immeasurable. Her life was lived before all with beauty and grace.

She was so much to so many. She was the perfect helpmate to Larry. The unconditional loving mother to her children. The beautiful Nana to her grandkids. The happily serving family member. The supportive friend. The melodious Choir/Chorus member/director. The gifted teacher. The caring nurse. The animal whisperer as a vet tech as well as on the home farm.

A memorial service is scheduled for August 20, 2017, 3:00 P.M. at Crosspoint UMC in Niceville, Florida. Rev. Jeremy Smith will officiate. All are welcome to attend the Celebration of Carol’s life. In honor of her life, bright colorful attire is encouraged at Carol’s request. In lieu of flowers donations to the Crosspoint Benevolence Ministry may be given.

The family would like to thank everyone (to include family, friends, Crosspoint staff, Hospice staff, and Home Instead caregiver) for their prayers, gifts, cards, visits, meals, desserts, and overall support during these most difficult times.
