Welcome to the memorial page for

Carol B. Wise

April 26, 1954 ~ September 11, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years Old

After a brief illness, Carol Bailey Wise went to be with Jesus on September 11, 2017.  Heaven is rejoicing with Carol there now.

Betty “Carol” Bailey was born April 26, 1954, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Robert and Betty Bailey.  Carol went to the University of Florida, where she met and married her husband and lifelong best friend, Bill.  She was a nurse for several years before she became a full-time wife and mother, traveling the country as an Air Force family.  She was always supportive, happy, joyful, and saw each move as an adventure.  Her passion was her family – loving, caring, and giving.  Carol adored children, especially her grandchildren.  She was actively involved in First Baptist Church Niceville since 1989 and has been involved in student ministry, Sunday School leadership with Bill, deacon’s wife, GAs, Acteens, and Bible Drill.  Carol was a mentor mom for Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs) for the past 11 years, where she made Niceville feel like home for many young mothers.

Carol had beautiful blue eyes, a radiant smile, and a contagious personality.  Her joy was obvious – it was the overflow that comes from knowing Jesus.  She was one of the sweetest and most selfless individuals you could ever hope to meet. She truly demonstrated kindness to countless people over the course of her life.  To top it all off, she documented everything in pictures, too!

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Bailey.  Carol is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bill; son Mark (Jenny); daughter Jennifer Hayes (Matt); grandchildren Elle, Evan, Eden, Madison, Bailey, and Isabella; father Professor Robert L. Bailey; sister Linda Wheeler (Bob); numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many honorary daughters, whom Carol served as their “Florida Mom”.

We thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital and family, countless church members, and friends for their prayer, love, scripture, and for walking with us through this time.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 10-11am at First Baptist Church of Niceville, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11am. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol’s honor to the First Baptist Church Niceville building fund “Moving Forward” (www.FBCNiceville.org) or Florida Baptist Children’s Home (www.FBCHomes.org).
