Cheri Elizabeth Barfield

Cheri passed away on November 1, 2019.  She was born on December 25, 1947 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Malcolm Jerome L’Abbe and Doreen Jacobs L’Abbe.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Shelley Eugene Sadler. 

Survivors include her partner, Gary Murphy; brothers, Joe (Barbara) L’Abbe and Richard Martin; sisters, Mary Lou (Bob) Reed, Carol (Billy) Peele, Dianne (Chuck) Byrum, and Donna Maria Filler. 

Cheri graduated from Bishop Toolen High School in Mobile, AL and attended Okaloosa Walton Junior College.  She was employed by the Okaloosa County School District and after retirement in 2015 she volunteered at Sharing and Caring in Ft. Walton Beach.  She made many friends throughout her life and will be greatly missed. 

There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 10-11:00am at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville followed by funeral services with Father Doug Halsema officiating. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alaqua Animal Refuge or Sharing and Caring.
