Elizabeth McShane Obituary

Elizabeth Maude McShane passed away in Niceville, Florida on December 17, 2019 after battling Multiple Myeloma for 7 and a half years. She was born August 17, 1955 to Donald and Natalie Walter in Cornwall, NY.  Elizabeth graduated from Delaware Valley High School in Callicoon, NY and Okaloosa Walton Community College. She served in the United States Air Force where she met her husband Paul D. McShane. She and Paul had two daughters, Erin and Kelly.  The family retired from the Air Force while stationed in Okinawa, Japan and have resided in Niceville, Florida since 1997.  For a number of years Elizabeth enjoyed teaching Aerobics Classes and was employed by the Eglin Federal Credit Union. Her most enjoyable job was as a stay at home mom until the youngest was 13 years old. Elizabeth was proud of her Native American Heritage and was an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Shawnee, OK.  She was involved in various community programs including The Exchange Club of Niceville where one of her favorite programs was Service to Seniors and was a key contributor to the Exchange Field of Valor. She was very involved in the area Myeloma Support Group providing assistance and resources to help new members. She enjoyed nature, walking, loved the family cats, and reading.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Paul D. McShane of Niceville FL, daughter Erin (Brandon) Oliver of Fountain, Colorado, grandsons, Nathaniel and Noah Oliver, daughter Kelly McShane of Birmingham, AL.  She is also survived by sisters Kathleen (Robert) Wood of Equinunk, PA, Mary (Dennis) Henkel of Atlanta, GA, Deborah (Kerry) Nickou Lexington, KY, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
