Evelyn was the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. She was my friend, my imaginary "older sister," my confidante, and so much more. We became neighbors when I was a teenager. Even though we were often separated by long distances because of Lionel's transfers with the USAF, our friendship withstood the test of time. I have many cherished memories of the good times we spent together. I am still amazed by her ability to recall people and events from her childhood days up until shortly before her last illness. She was a wonderful lady, and I shall miss her greatly.
