George H Comfort

George Hampton Comfort, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Niceville, FL. He was born August 30, 1926 in Green Hill, KY to Neal and Lelia Mae Comfort, the oldest of four children. George served in the Philippines in the Army in WWII as a staff sergeant. He attended Bowling Green Business College. He had a long career as an agricultural chemical salesman, and won many awards as top salesman. He enjoyed fishing in his free time.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Arterburn Comfort and a son, Curtis Neal (1953-54). He is survived by his daughter Anita DeVuyst (Rick), grandchildren Grant DeVuyst (Sierra) and Gretchen Helbling (Cyril), a sister Elizabeth Hammersley (Paul), as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on April 1, 2017, 2p.m., beside Bethany Baptist Church, Alvaton, KY, officiated by Bro. Caroll Moseley. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Gideon’s International.
