After a struggle with Pneumonia, our beloved mother, Kathryn Robinson McInnis Dawkins, age 93 of Niceville, Florida passed away on December 24th. We believe that she got to attend and celebrate Jesus’ birth with him this year. Born in Repton, Ala. on November 12, 1925, she was the youngest child of Pearl and Otha Bernard Robinson. Kathryn worked most of career as a bookkeeper for Vanity Fair Mills in Monroeville, Alabama and after retirement she was the friendly face at Monroeville Pharmacy as cashier. She was a blessing and a faithful, godly friend to all that met her and were witness to her life of self-sacrifice. She shared love, peace, joy, hope and a giving spirit with anyone who would listen, and whomever chose to be her friend.
There will surely be celebrations by her Heavenly Father and passed family members including late, loving husbands, John Otha McInnis of Monroeville, and Joe M. Dawkins of Montgomery, Alabama when they see that she is finally coming HOME.
She is survived by her son John O. McInnis Jr. and his wife Theresia McInnis, two grandsons John O McInnis III, wife Natalia, & Jeffrey L. McInnis, wife Janine, with granddaughters: Bryce, Vesper, and Sunny.
Her ashes will be placed next to her late husband John O. McInnis Sr. in Bellville, Alabama. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to be notified of the date and times are requested to send contact information to John and Theresia at P.O. Box 217 Niceville, Fla. 32588.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Untitled Methodist Children’s Home through Crosspoint at 214 Partin Dr. South, Niceville 32580. Or to the Emerald Coast Hospice located at 550 Redstone Ave. West Suite 310 in Crestview, FL. 32536.
