Patricia Ann Thornsberry went to join her Lord and family on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
Trish was born in Sampson AFB, New York on September 16, 1946, daughter of the late Irene Gatlin and late William Elliott. She received her BS degree from the University of South Carolina where she began her career as a special education teacher. She retired from Silver Sands School in Fort Walton Beach. Trish contributed to her profession in several ways to help her colleagues and students. She was involved with Special Olympics for several years, Teacher of the Year, and runner up for the district. She created the Seahorse Café at Silver Sands where students were taught business skills and used the money to fund the needs of the school. Trish has such strong compassion for others and always volunteered when needed.
Trish was a talented artist and loved painting and crafts. She enjoyed working in her gardens and attending bluegrass festivals. In addition to Trish’s passions, she held strong relationships with her friends and family. Everyone knew Trish as compassionate, giving, selfless, and kind.
She will be remembered by her devoted husband of 50 years, Sonny Thornsberry; her beloved son, Keith Thornsberry with his fiancée Christian Nall; daughter, Samantha Thornsberry Bodiford; her loving grandchild, Elizabeth Grace Bodiford; her beloved Uncle Robert Tiller and Aunt Kathy; and many others that she thought of as family.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 Partin Drive N, Niceville, FL 32578 on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm followed by interment at Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
