Winfred D Floyd

Winfred Dale Floyd, 83, of Niceville, FL, was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father in the early morning of August 27, 2018. Dale was a devout Christian and a true family man. He loved only God more than he loved his family and friends. Dale lived an amazing and wonderful life, and he touched the lives of all those he met.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, John Aubrey Floyd and Ethel Blackburn Floyd. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Grace Lupo Floyd, to whom he was married for over 64 years, and by his sister Bobbie Jean Caldwell (Don). He is also survived by his son Greg Floyd (Leslie), and his daughter Cheryl Floyd, along with grandsons Jeremy England (Melissa) and Kyle England (Jennifer), and great-grandchildren: Levi Floyd England, Grace Lee England, and Parker Berry England.

Dale was born in Tabor City, North Carolina, on July 26, 1935, and as a young man he served in the U.S. Coast Guard off the coast of North Carolina. Dale lived in Columbia, South Carolina before moving to Gautier, Mississippi - where he and his wife owned a barber and beauty shop. He later settled in Niceville, Florida. Dale very much enjoyed fishing, gardening, fellowship with friends, and, most of all, spending time with his beloved family.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 31, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Niceville, where Dale served as an usher. Family visitation will begin at 9:30 am, with friends asked to arrive at 10:30 am. A church service will follow from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, and a graveside service will take place at Heritage Gardens Cemetery at approximately 1:15 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Niceville in honor of Dale.
