Alma Lee Jones passed away in her Niceville home surrounded by loved ones on November 16, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born in Chipley, Florida on October 13, 1932 to Boyd and Effie (Hughes) White. The mother of seven had a heart and kitchen that were always open. In her later years, she loved going to bingo at the Seminole Community Center and spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her son, David Jones (Brooke, Austin and Claire Davis; Brandie Boone and Bella Brink; Brian Boone and Ryley Gest); son, Lee Jones ( Susie Jones; Jason, Rhonda, Randall and Cheyanne Hutchins; Shawn, Jamie, Logan, Sam, Dawson, Addison, Jolene and Everleigh Hutchins); daughter, Cookie Fields (William Prince), grandson, Ray Jones (Anne, James and Bella Spies; Courtney, Nathan, Levi and Carson Barrow); granddaughter, Darlene Jones; Daughter-in-law, Agnes Jones (Bobby and Ian); sister, Alice Martin (Wayne & Britton Martin); brother, Charles Ritner; and special friends Charlotte Cossey, Tom Hinkler, Jimmy Rodham, and Nell and Cecil Sexton.
Alma was preceded in death by her father, Boyd White; mother, Effie Hughes; step-father, Charles Ritner; husband, Walter Jones; sons Raymond, Donnie and Smokey Jones; and daughter, Gloria Decker.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 20 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, with the service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Early Cemetery.
