Amelia was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 26, 1955 to the late Ernest James Dock and Cecelia Mar Shivers Dock. She transitioned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father December 26, 2023.
Elaine’s early education schools were in Birmigham, Alabama; Corpus Christi, Texas; and Meriwether County Georgia. Afer graduationg from Manchester High School in Georgia, she attended Tuskegee Intitute. She later received a degree in Medical Science frm the University of West Florida.
For a short period before starting her career, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician. She retired from the Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida after thirty years of dedicated service.
Elaine found a home at Striving for Perfection Ministers; allowing her light to shine in the Women of Worth book study and other events—sharing her of love for crafting—graciously knitting hats, sewing and the like, for the residents at assisted living facilities and for those in need. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, two wonderful sons: Marlon and James Buchanan, one special sister Annetras (Darryl) Tolliver, one caring brother Kenneth (Stephanie) Dean, one niece Shambia Tolliver, two nephews: Darryl and Ernest Tolliver, one great nephew Michael Juan Tolliver, two special friends Gayle and Jean, Many cousins, a host of other relatives, her Striving church family and many other friends.
