Amy McHugh Obituary

Amy Michelle McHugh, a resident of Valparaiso, Florida, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born to James and Pamela Mitchum on September 3, 1987 in North Charleston, South Carolina. Amy is survived by her husband of ten years, Christopher Lee McHugh, and daughter Maela. She is also survived by her mother Pamela Mitchum, and brother Christopher (Elizabeth) Mitchum. She is preceded in death by her father James Mitchum. Amy served as a nurse for five years at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida prior to being diagnosed with breast cancer. She enjoyed going to the beach, skim-boarding, fishing, camping, attending concerts, gardening, dancing, laughing, and spending time with her family. Her legacy will be the immeasurable impact she made on the many lives she touched and her love for her husband Chris and daughter Maela. Amy was a gentle and graceful spirit whose kind heart, positive attitude, and patience were a living testament to her faith in Jesus Christ. Her light shined bright with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit while she battled breast cancer for nearly seven years. Her memory will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to know her, and she will be greatly missed.
