On January 18, 2020, Captain Andy Lindsey left the dock for his final fishing trip!
Our beloved son, brother and friend arrived in the spring of 1965 in Fort Walton Beach Florida and departed in Pensacola, Florida after a brief illness.
From an early age he gained the nickname of “Andy Google Fishing Buddy” and as the years passed he was referred to as “Re-Pete” as he loved fishing any creek, river and especially the Gulf of Mexico just like his daddy, “Pete” Joe Marion Lindsey, Sr. Andy’s mother, Barbara Joan Lindsey instilled in him a firm faith in our Heavenly Father and the act of showing kindness and respect for all of God’s creatures. With his hands, he loved growing a little garden. Andy was a life-long resident of Okaloosa and Walton County, Florida.
Andy is preceded in death by his daddy, Joe Marion Lindsey, Sr. and a brother Jerry Allison Lindsey, Andy left behind his mother, Barbara Joan Lindsey of Gloucester, Va, an older brother Joe Marion Lindsey, Jr. and wife Dale of Westville, Florida; a sister-in-law, Leonia Lindsey of Westville, Florida; sisters Becky Lindsey Slate of Kernersville, NC, Teresa Lindsey Altemus and husband John of Gloucester Va; Patty Lindsey-Wolpert and husband Todd of Norfolk Va; Shannen Lindsey Jenkins of Gloucester, Va.; his companion, Annette Taunton of Freeport, Florida; and several nephews and nieces scattered under the stars. He also leaves behind a huge family of friends who each will share in stories and interesting journeys of hunting and fishing trips! .
Friends of Capt. Andy will be hosting a “time of sharing” to celebrate his life at Nicks Restaurant in Basin Bayou, Freeport, Florida about 6:30pm. The family extends their sincere gratitude for all the love shown and prayers in the loss of a “One of a Kind” fishing buddy!
