Anne Elizabeth Herriott died in Panama City, Florida, on September 7, 2023. She was born in El Paso, Texas, on November 8, 1949. Her parents were Vivian C. Hood and Richard M. Herriott, III. But she was raised by Vivian and William B. Hood.
Through hard work and determination Anne got her GED, joined the U.S. Navy, and went to college obtaining two Masters degrees. She remained in the Navy Reserves while also working for IBM in New York, and later Boeing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Anne was also an entrepreneur dabbling in different businesses such as getting her real estate license, starting a wedding planning business, and creating a successful pet sitting business. She was also very active with animal rescue, particularly Feline Friends of Destin. Anne loved the beach life in Destin, Florida, and retired there.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian C. Hood, her father, Richard M. Herriott, III, and her stepfather, William B. Hood. She was also predeceased by her brothers Philip Kearney, William Kearney, and Kenneth Kearney. She is survived by her sister, Susan H. Kilpatrick. She is also survived by a niece, nephews, cousins and friends. Our family wants to give special recognition to Kristin Philipp who was Anne’s caregiver for the last eight years of Anne’s life.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date to be announced. Anne would have appreciated donations in her honor to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
