The afternoon of September 11, 2025 the angels took Anne B. Lodge, age 87 of Niceville, Florida to meet Jesus. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Anne was born July 13, 1938 in Camilla, Georgia. Her parents were Cortez and Pauline Blackburn. Anne graduated from Mitchell County High School and began her professional career as a legal secretary. Anne later broke new ground in her career by becoming part of the first class of female State Farm Agents, a pioneering achievement during a time when few women held such roles. After many years as an agent in both Camilla, GA and Augusta, GA, Anne retired and moved to Niceville, FL. During her retirement, Anne graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing and helped many with her gentle touch.
Anne was an inspiration to her family and everyone she met. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing, and a devoted believer of Christ. Anne enjoyed sharing many experiences and memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents Cortez and Pauline Blackburn and her sister Laura Martin. She is survived by one son and daughter, Keith and Cindy Lodge (Cordele, GA) and Denise and David Chapman (Destin, FL). She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Danielle and John Vedder (Alpharetta, GA); Jessica and Myles Tonkinson (Jacksonville, FL); Darren Chapman and Natalie Burton (Wildwood, MO); Daryl and Chris Hoffman (Atlanta, GA); and Mitchell Lodge and Kelsey Blume (Roswell, GA). She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Brayden Vedder, Brynlee Vedder, Beau Vedder, Astro Chapman, and Emerson Hoffman.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 15th at Destin Cemetery.
