Anne Campo Strasser of Niceville, Florida, died peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Fort Walton Beach Hospital, surrounded by all seven of her children.
She was born in Camden, New Jersey on January 19, 1941 to the late Dr. Anthony Guy and Helen Campo. She graduated from St. Mary of the Angels Academy (Haddonfield, NJ) and Immaculata College (Paoli, PA). Later, she attended DeSales School of Theology (Washington, DC) where she earned a Master of Arts in the field of Theology.
A wife of a Naval officer, Mrs. Strasser gracefully planted roots in each new community and became an active spectator for all of her childrens’ activities. Her family was incredibly important to her, as she traveled worldwide for baptisms, weddings and graduations. Anne had an immense love for God and served the church by leading Bible studies, speaking at religious conferences, and being a lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and supported many charities and service organizations. She also loved working with youth and taught Math, Science and Religion at Seton High School in Manassas, VA. Anne loved being on the water and hosting friends at her Niceville home, as well as playing Bridge and having breakfast with her friends at McDonald’s.
Mrs. Strasser was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. (Jack) Strasser, Jr. (CDR, USN Ret.) and her parents. She is survived by her seven children, Mary-Helen DuBois (John), Susan Strasser (fiancé Jay Davis), Edward J. Strasser, III, Stephanie Sillo (Joe), Maj. Matthew Strasser, USA (Bethanne), Jane Knappenberger (Ken), and John Strasser (Anna) as well as grandchildren Johnny (Jenamarie), Jeanne (Nick), Jackie (Kyle), Jacob, Tim, Victoria, Allie, Virginia (Luke), Matthew, Thomas, Sean, Darla, Jack, Maryanne, Faith, Ian, Abbie, and Jackson, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. Anthony G. Campo, Jr., sisters, Dr. Mary Kline (Perry) and Helen Campo (Danny Miller) and sisters-in-law Margaret Ricci and Barbara Strasser.
