Barbara Louise Fearheiley Bramlet

Miramar Beach, Florida

Barbara Louise Fearheiley Bramlet, 86, peacefully passed away in her home at Sandestin Beach Resort on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Barbara was born July 13, 1934 in East Saint Louis to Bernard (Mick) Frederick Fearheiley and Pattie Marie Phelps Fearheiley.

She married James (Jim) Wendell Bramlet, Colonel, US Army Infantry, on August 26, 1956. He passed away on July 20, 2002.

Barbara graduated from Harrisburg Township High School in Harrisburg, Illinois in 1953. She was employed at the Harrisburg Daily Register Newspaper until she married in 1956 to Second Lieutenant and High School sweetheart, Jim Bramlet. Stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky they began a life of moves and travel around the country and overseas including Germany and Puerto Rico. Barbara also lovingly supported her young children through her husband’s two tours of service in Vietnam. In 1988 Barbara and Jim made Sandestin their permanent home to be near their daughters and families. Barbara worked for ten plus years at The Market Café doing their daily accounting. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a five year volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a Mary Kay Consultant and an artist who loved to draw in pastels. Barbara is a member of Village Baptist Church. A life so beautifully lived with a heart so deeply loved. She will be missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, one sister, Patricia (Pat) Jeannine Fearheiley Mays and two brothers Bernard Ronald Fearheiley and William (Bill) Clayton Fearheiley.

Barbara is survived by three daughters: Laura Beth Bramlet Cox and husband Chan Eugene Cox, Cynthia (Cindy) Lea Bramlet Blanton and husband Darrell Edward Blanton, and Patricia (Patty) Louise Bramlet McWhorter and husband Douglas (Doug) Weston McWhorter. Seven grandchildren: Cassandra (Cassie) Marie Cox, Mary Caitlin (Caitie) Cox Brooks and husband Terrence Devaughnte Brooks, Kristen Nicole Blanton Jozwiak and husband Matthew (Matt) Thomas Jozwiak, James Austin Blanton, Danielle Renee McWhorter, Devin Scott McWhorter, and Clinton Eugene Cox, deceased. Five great grandchildren: Charlotte Louise Cox, Carter Clinton Brooks, Kole Kash Brooks, Hayden Ray Brooks, and Rhodes Austin Jozwiak. Sister-in-law, Linda Rude Bramlet and daughter’s sister-in-law, Jacqueline (Jackie) Mary Cox. And many more family and friends.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Village Baptist Church, 101 Matthew Blvd, Destin, Florida with Pastor Steven Davies presiding. A private graveside service will follow at Heritage Gardens, 2201 Partin Drive North, Niceville, Florida where internment will be beside her beloved husband, Jim.
