Barbara Ann McDermott

Barbara Ann McDermott was called home to be with the Lord on November 17th, 2022 following a three year battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. Barbara was born on June 29th 1946 in Ogdensburg, NY to Jerry and Elizabeth Premo.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Gerry McDermott, along with her older brother Gary Premo. Her four children Stacey Schweppe, Michael Schweppe (Liz), Kristen Dorff (Justin) and Adam McDermott (Justine). As well as her three grandchildren Jackson Dorff, Cole and Zoey McDermott. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Elizabeth Premo.
Barbara lived a life full of love and laughter. She was a stranger to no one, and could always be found talking to friends or family. She made new friends anywhere she went, and could always make you laugh. In her younger years she was a flight attendant traveling the world. While her kids were growing up she loved attending her their shows, games, and performances, she never missed an event! After moving to Florida in 2006, she became a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, in Niceville. She spent her time volunteering at the Church and Twin Cities Hospital for many years. Barbara loved a good party, golf, travel and most of all, her family. She will always be remembered as full of life and laughter. A memorial service will be held in her honor on November 29th, 2022 at 10 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for the support they provided during her illness.
