Beatrice “Bea” Huene, 80, of Niceville, Florida, passed away on May 31, 2026, with her daughter by her side.
Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Bea met and married her husband, Tom, and proudly supported him throughout his 30-year career in the United States Air Force. Bea loved spending time with family and friends and always made time for the people she cared about.
Bea had the gift of gab and truly never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and had a special way of making people feel like family. She leaves behind countless friends whose lives were brighter because of her.
Bea cherished the time she spent at her cottage in Portage, Wisconsin, with some of her dearest friends. She especially enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, and making treasured memories with her beloved grandchildren. Those moments brought her great joy and meant the world to her.
Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Huene, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn Black; son-in-law, Phillip Black; beloved grandchildren, Ethan and Holland; and several nieces and nephews.
Bea will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to family and friends, love of cooking, adventurous spirit, and her ability to make everyone she met feel at home. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of the many people who were fortunate to know and love her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 Partin Drive North, Niceville, Florida 32578. Interment at Heritage Gardens will follow the funeral service.
