Billy Joe "BJ" Rogers

Billy Joe “BJ” Rogers, age 84, passed away on December 19, 2025. He was born on February 17, 1941, in Lucedale, Mississippi, to the late Joseph and Ethlyn Rogers.

Billy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Auburn University and dedicated an impressive 52-year career to McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. During his tenure, he led the electronics division for the F-15 Eagle program. His leadership and contributions were so impactful that the laboratory he headed for 42 years was ultimately named in his honor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Cheryl Archer.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Rogers; his son, Richard Rogers; his grandchildren, Stephen, Kathryn, Jason, Rachel, Dustin, Christina, Megan, and Blake; and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy in his life.

A graveside service will be held on December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
