Bobby "Bill" Meeks lost his battle with cancer Wednesday August 2, 2023, at the age of 69. He passed away in his home surrounded by family. He was born in Opp, Al on October 23, 1953, to Robert and Mildred Meeks.
Bill worked construction for Barton Homes in Niceville for over thirty years. He was a simple man who enjoyed playing bingo and making trips to Biloxi. While home, he would spend his time watching the Braves games and hanging out with his grand dog, Nerak. His favorite pastime was fishing. It was in his blood to be on the water.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Meeks and Mildred Crabtree Meeks; his son, William Meeks; brothers, Earl Meeks, Crockett Meeks, and John Meeks; and sister, Patty Pinkham.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin Meeks of Niceville, Fl, Bryce (Hope) Patterson of Roanoke, Al, Jimmy (Kelly) Patterson of Ponce de Leon, Fl; daughters, Karen Meeks of Niceville, Fl, Joann Hess of Niceville, Fl, Judy (Randy) Buchanan of Carrollton, Ga; three sisters, 3 brothers, 17 grandkids, numerous great grandkids, and his grand dog.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice, Sacred Heart Cancer Center (Miramar, Fl), and Sacred Heart Hospital (Pensacola) for all of their care and support throughout his battle.
