Bridget Rose Mills

Our beloved mother, Bridget Rose Mills, peacefully passed away in her home on August 5th, 2024, at the age of 94.

Bridget was born on April 10, 1930, in Chicago, IL. Bridget had a passion for helping others in need, she loved horseback riding, swimming, dancing, music, golfing, camping and fishing. Bridget was a dedicated member of Crosspoint South Church in Crestview. She volunteered with the Red Hat Association, The Classy Lady Organization, soup kitchens at Waterfront Mission, a member of Senior Circle activities for many years. Bridget was an active participant at the American Legion Post #75, where she cherished time on Friday nights filled with dancing and live music.

Bridget was married to the love of her life, Frank Mills of CA, who preceded her in death, along with her parents, Joseph and Rose Cuilla and many beloved family members. Bridget is survived by her two sons, Robert Cusumano of OR and John Cusumano (Tamala) of South FL and her daughter, Renee Mills of Crestview, FL. Additionally, she leaves behind her sister, Eleanor White of CA, along with her niece and nephew, Kerry Ann Cavazos and Mike Buffington. Bridget was also blessed with four grandchildren: Chad and Chelsea Cusumano of FL, Elisha Cusumano of CA and Seth Cusumano of OR, as well as one great-grandchild, Jada Cusumano of FL. Bridget also cherished her extended family, especially her best friend, Wendy Bush (Dale) and her children, along with Gayle Kent (Mike).

Bridget fought valiantly through life’s challenges, exhibiting unparalleled strength, love, laughter and resilience. Thanks to the amazing care of her caregiver Dora Ariolla, Bridgets last months were filled with bingo, visits with friends, rides to the beach docks and dining out as she had not done in years. Bridget touched the lives of all who knew her; her quick wit, humor and charm endeared her to many. 

To honor her beautiful life and remarkable journey, we invite all who knew Bridget to celebrate her remarkable life with us on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Crosspoint South on PJ Adams Pkwy in Crestview, FL at 12 Noon in the church cafe located in the rear of the building.  Let us come together to celebrate her memories and the extraordinary life of a truly amazing woman.
