Carl Wendell Shepardson, Jr. passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Monday, June 19, 2023 at the age of 85 in Niceville, Florida. Carl was born on September 9, 1937 to Carl and Ruth Shepardson in Foxboro, Massachusett, where he grew up and graduated from Foxboro High School in 1955.
Carl was a Vietnam veteran. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy and played accordion as a member of the Navy band. He later served in the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired after 20 year of travel and service.
In 1957, Carl married his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann, with whom he raised three children. A man of few words, Carl expressed his love for his family by sharing his passions for film and the culinary arts. His kitchen was the heart of his home and his home theater was the sanctuary. He was an avid lover of golf, reading, and classic cars. His hobbies being carried on by his children and grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann (Rappel) Shepardson, and his parents, Carl and Ruth Shepardson.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Shepardson (Mary), Cynthia Swanzy (Keith), and Lance Shepardson; grandchildren, Kenneth Shepardson (Cheree), Jordan Shepardson (Emma), Lindsey Grace Wilson (Russel), Kyle Swanzy (Marybeth), and Kevin Shepardson; great-grandchildren, Magnolia Shepardson, Henry Swanzy and Dylan Swanzy; and his sister, Judith Richards (Donald).
The family celebrated the life of Carl in a private gathering and would like to extend a special thanks to friends and loved ones for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
