Carol C. Layne

We are saddened to announce the passing of Carol C. Layne, 88, of Niceville, Florida on January 6, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1936, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Mark H. and Fay B. Ervin. Carol attended Dickson High School in Dickson, Oklahoma & Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She retired as a registered nurse from Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center in 2014.

Carol was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was very rooted in her faith and knew she was going to her forever heavenly home. Her family will forever miss her, love her, and take solace in knowing that she is at peace.

She is preceded in death by her best friend and ex-husband, Grover C. Layne; her parents, Mark and Fay Ervin; sisters, Mary J. Shrum and Juniata Brokob; and a brother, Charles Ervin. She is survived by a sister, Beverly Berryhill, 95; Mark and Vanessa Layne of Cummin, GA; Terry Layne of Niceville, FL; Michael (Bo) and Michelle Layne of Niceville, FL; Julie and Rick Smith of Saginaw, MI; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be taking Carol back to Ardmore, Oklahoma to be buried with her family at Provence Cemetery.
