Carthell Edward (Buddy) Powell

   Carthell Edward (Buddy) Powell, 86, of Mary Esther Florida passed away peacefully on Friday April 2, 2021. He was born in Rockingham North Carolina on February 8, 1935, to the late Luther Powell and Estelle Denson. At an early age of 17 he enlisted in the Air Force (1952) and was soon stationed in Japan where he met his Wife Masako and soon wed on June 20,1956 . Buddy, a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars served his country proudly in the Air Force for 22 years. His dedication to the military was second to none. He was a member to the American Legion and the VFW where you could find him every Friday night tapping his hands to the beat on the bar and with his dancing shoes on, which he love to do. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife (Masako) of 60 years and now destined to spend the rest of eternity doing what he loved with the one he loved the most, dancing with his wife among the stars together forever.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a dear friend to all that knew him. We are saddened for the loss of a great man and will always Cherish his memory.  

Buddy is survived by his two Children. Son Carl and his wife Patricia Powell, daughter Carleen and husband Mick Leatherwood. He also had 4 grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Christi Powell, Chad Powell, Michael Leatherwood and his wife Nicole, Samantha Pennington and her husband Andrew, and his 2 Great Grandchildren Caden and Chase Powell.
