Christian Irvin Mikles,79, of Niceville Florida, passed away on May 14th, 2024.
Chris was born on March 4th, 1945 to Fred and Edna Mikles in Townsville, Australia. Chris’s childhood was spent in many states before his family settled in Valparaiso, FL. Chris graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach in 1964. In 1964, while still in High School, Chris worked alongside his father and opened a service station in Niceville FL, which eventually became Twin Cities Automotive Services, where he always served his customers with a smile. He later joined and served in the United States Army Reserves. Chris loved working with his hands and could often be found lending a helping hand building, repairing, and fixing almost anything imaginable for his friends and family. While Chris was a man who enjoyed working, he also enjoyed many hobbies, from restoring his vintage Model A Ford to becoming an avid pilot owning and flying his Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Chris was also a member of the Eglin Aero Modellers where he built and flew remote control model aircraft. He was also a member of the HAMM radio #KE4DHM and was a member of the Playground Antique & Classic Car Club. Chris was a member and served as a deacon at Rosemont Baptist Church in Niceville FL. He could often be found heading up the food ministry cooking up meals on a regular basis. Chris never met a stranger, once he crossed your path he was sure to embrace you with a smile and engage in conversation. He had a passion for helping others and a gift for sharing stories, making even the mundane interesting and entertaining.
Chris was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Edna Mikles and mother and father-in-law Mimi and Poppers Wine.
