Clara Luz Jellison, 87 of Niceville, FL. transitioned to heaven on January 3, 2020. Born on January 1, 1933 to Francisco Hopkins and Amparo Alvarez Hopkins in Guama, Cuba. Clara moved to Niceville in 2011, where she continued to touch many lives with her smile and kindness. Clara dedicated her life to her husband and children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her love for her family, Clara was a devoted Christian and loyal member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jellison of fifty-eight years. Together they enjoyed traveling and staying at RV parks throughout the United States. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Roland Simmons of Niceville, Fl. and Noelia and Bill Henry of Bangor Maine. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters from Cuba, six grandsons, Roland III, Jason, Francisco, and Adrian Simmons, Ronnie and Christopher Henry and a granddaughter Jill Hopkins. Clara has eleven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 5:00 P.M - 7:00 P.M. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, January 8 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
