Cory D. Rathburn

Cory D Rathburn, age 49, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Ascension Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born September 6, 1975 in Erie, PA.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Rosemary (Snyder) Rathburn; wife of 24 years, Tanya Rathburn; four sons, Tyler Javens (Andrea Makay), Troy Javens, Trent Javens (Alexas), and Cory R Rathburn; a grandson, Elden Javens and granddaughter Gracelynn Javens. He is also survived by a brother Tim Belfiore (Anita); a sister, Beth Carlotta (Daniel); nieces, Ashley, Danielle, Amanda, Randi, and nephew, Samuel.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Theodore and Helen Rathburn; maternal grandparents Ernest and Ruby Snyder; also, by many aunts and uncles.

Cory attended electrical school and worked as a Journeyman Electrician at Bay Harbour Electric for many years before starting Synergy Electric with his wife. They also began renovating houses and created TCB Investment Properties (Tanya, Cory and Boys) a business for his children to carry on. After many years of visiting Florida they decided to move there, which eventually landed them on their next venture of buying 204 acres to build a ranch to pass on to future generations.  

Cory was a very ambitious man that worked hard to provide for his family, whom he truly enjoyed spending time with, as well as his friends. His hobbies included watching football, going to concerts, singing karaoke, riding motorcycles, watching movies, and working outside on his property. He will be sadly missed by all that were blessed to have known him.

Services will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, Cemetery, & Crematory at 2201 North Partin Drive, Niceville, FL 32578. There will be a reception at Papa’s Smokehouse, 205 W John Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL 32578, after the service from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, you may send a plant or tree that will be planted at a memorial site on the family property.
