DESTIN, Fla. -- Danella Goff Neely passed away Feb. 15, 2019 in her home after a lengthy illness.  Born on Dec. 24, 1929 in Sarasota, Fla., to George “Murry” and Julia Goff, Danella is survived by the love of her life of 69 years, H.L. “Bob” Neely, her daughters Pamela (Herbert) Faison Jr., Julie (Charles) Little Jr. and sons Robert (Sandra) and Daniel (Susan) Neely, 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her sister Elizabeth Harper and numerous nieces and nephews.

Danella was predeceased in death by her parents.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her life’s journey to all who knew her was anchored by a steadfast faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and more recently for nearly two decades as an active member of Good News UMC, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

The third-generation Floridian was a dedicated member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Pensacola Chapter 298 and Choctawhatchee Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she for seven years chaired the latter’s conservation committee.

She loved to cook and was an avid artist, filling her family’s homes with countless oil paintings of famous American landscapes and local Florida beach scenes.

A celebration of life will be held at the Good News United Methodist Church in Santa Rosa Beach, at 2 p.m Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.  The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to the charity one’s choice.
