David Lee Hudson, age 66, of Niceville, FL, passed away on July 7, 2024. David was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on January 17, 1958, to Donald Hudson and Dolores Bode. He married the love of his life, Susan Yarbrough, and they went on to be together for the last 43 years.
He was well-known in the community for his passion for the restaurant industry. David and Susan were proud owners of Hamburger Dave’s and Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q in Niceville for 32 years. He had a love for fishing which he shared with his partner of 50 years, Wayne Lewis. David took joy in aggravating his wife as much as possible but always knew best how to calm her back down.
David is survived by his wife, Susan Yarbrough Hudson; parents, Donald and Dolores Hudson; son, Kevin Hudson (Karina); brother, Damon L. Hudson; 3 grandchildren, Victoria, Jordan, and Madeleine; and the extended Yarbrough family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis L. Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, David’s family would like to encourage you to make donations to either the Saving With Soul Pet Rescue, 1021 Beal Pkwy NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Shalimar.
There will be a memorial service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1 Meigs Dr. Shalimar, FL 32579, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with a reception to follow.
