We are sad to announce the passing of our dear mother, Delores Faye Hale, age 77, from Allen, TX. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Delores was born on June 27, 1946, in Vanceburg, KY, to Hazel and Rhoda (Stephens) Bloomfield. She worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Fort Walton Beach, FL, for over 30 years and enjoyed interacting with all who entered the store. She also worked at Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, OH, as a Direct Care Staff Member for several years before her retirement in 2016.
On June 6, 1966, Delores married the love of her life, Douglas Hale, Sr, and they had two children, Douglas Hale, Jr. and VondaKay Bensley (Hale).
Delores loved her family and would brag about them to anyone who would listen. She enjoyed reading and playing Farmville but especially loved working on her family genealogy. Towards the end of her life, Delores’ favorite thing was to color on an app on her iPad and talk politics with friends and family.
Delores is survived by her children Douglas Hale, Jr. (Machele) and VondaKay Bensley (Darren); grandchildren, Meagan Jones (Joshua), Ian and Kayla Bensley; great-granddaughter Juliet Faye Jones; sisters Irene Johnson and Alma Wolfe; brothers Leonard Bloomfield and Johnny Bond; brothers-in-law Charles Spooneybarger and Frank Wurzelbacher; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hale, Sr.; siblings, Emil Bloomfield, Donna Spooneybarger, Kay Wurzelbacher, and Earl Bloomfield; parents, Hazel and Rhoda Bloomfield; and nephew, Samuel Wurzelbacher.
A private service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, in Niceville, FL.
