In loving memory of our mother, Dorothy Taylor Flynn, who passed away on July 8, 2023. She was the devoted wife of Daniel Flynn, loving mother of Pamela Diane Flynn Macky and Daniel Michael Flynn, grandmother to Miranda Vinson and Rachel Flynn, and great-grandmother to Ella, Jack, and Malia Vinson. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on July 5,1938 to Doris and John Barlow, the youngest four children, "Dot" was described as a precious little doll and a bundle of joy for the whole family. To her husband, she was always known as “My Dottie”.
Love at first sight was the best way to describe Dot and Dan’s whirlwind romance. Soon after meeting, they were married in 1956 and went on to be married for 62 years. As an Air Force wife, she traveled the globe with her husband and made a lovely home for her family on or near over ten US Air Force Bases. She was a passionate ceramist and volunteered for the Air Force Family Services for many years. Fiercely devoted to her family and friends, she was a source of inspiration to anyone battling dementia. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Vitas Hospice for their dedicated care.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Daniel; her parents Doris and John; her brothers John and Ronald and her stepsister, Amy. She leaves behind two children, Pam and Dan, two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
