Dorothy Joan Miller

Dorothy Joan Miller, age 88, loving and devoted mother of three, passed away peacefully in her family home of fifty years in Niceville, Florida on June 19, 2022.

She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and proud of her Welsh heritage. She was a devoted military spouse of 20 years which brought her and her family to Eglin AFB. She then dedicated 25 years supporting the success of the family business, Gary Miller Homes.

Dorothy was a friend to all whose lives she touched. She lived a full life as a generous, loving and kind mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them..She will be deeply missed!

Dorothy was a talented artist, painting many beautiful landscapes and lighthouses from her travels. Her most favorite travel was returning each year to her birth state of Ohio to enjoy family and friends for an annual Clam Bake.  In her free time, Dorothy loved to read, listen to classical music and do crossword puzzles. She also had a flair for baking...her chocolate chip cookies were legendary!

Dorothy was such a caring woman, always giving her time to others. She was a longtime member of the Niceville Exchange Club. She served as the club's president for two years and was the District Director for the State of Florida. She also won numerous awards for her exemplary service. Dorothy was a dedicated Exchangite.

Her soul will continue to live on through her surviving family of three children... Susan Goff (husband Rick), Kevin Miller (wife Charlotte), and Mark Miller (wife Lisa). Granddaughters... Kristina Ruud, Cherie Hampton (husband Kris), and step granddaughter Karen Twible. Six great-grandchildren... Skyler, Soraya, Callie, Kaiden, Grant, and Merrick. Her sister Jewell Ann Diehn and sister-in-law Ellen Davis.

Please join us celebrating her life Saturday morning at 10:00am on July 2, 2022 at the Niceville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Niceville Exchange Club @ Post Office Box 342, Niceville FL, 32588.
