Douglas Hansford Netterville Jr., age 86, passed away on November 22, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1939, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late Douglas Hansford Netterville and Pauline Moore Netterville. Douglas was a proud graduate of Northeast Louisiana State College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.
Douglas built a meaningful and hardworking life through his career in agricultural sales equipment and as a dedicated cotton farmer. He was known for the many hobbies he enjoyed—gardening, fishing, raising crawfish, deer hunting, target shooting, and reloading bullets. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional work; he was a Mason, and he volunteered faithfully at Crosspoint Church, serving in both the kitchen and the SOS (Feeding America) program, and participating in Upper Room prayer requests.
Following the passing of his wife, Eliza N. Ford, in December 1999, with whom he shared two children, Douglas and Anna, he later married Lynda Y. Netterville and lovingly embraced her daughters, Beth and Dana, as his own. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eliza; his parents; sister, Barbara Jane Weatherford; brother, Wade Netterville.
Douglas is survived by his daughter, Dr. Anna Netterville of Cummings, GA; his son, Douglas Netterville of Fountain Inn, SC; granddaughters, Allison and Lindsey Netterville of Fountain Inn, SC; his wife, Lynda Y. Netterville of Niceville, FL; his daughters, Dana Petrey (Roy) of Baker, FL, and Beth Brant (Steve), also of Baker, FL; grandsons, Cole Ransom and Andrew H. Brant; nieces, Paula (Tom) Gandy of Baton Rouge, LA and Susan (Steve) Jenkins also of Baton Rouge, LA; and his cousins, Matthew McDonald of the UAE and Mary Carol McDonald of Atlanta, GA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crosspoint Church in Niceville, FL, on December 13, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with the service to follow at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice.
