Dwight Kenneth Mills (DK or D-White to those that know him well) was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A dear friend to many, he lived the fullest of lives: full of smiles, laughter, love, and faith. Having never met a stranger, he always made fast friends and nourished those friendships over a lifetime. Many knew Dwight well because he was both genuine and warm with an unforgettable sense of humor. He stood out as a man of character and commitment: an attentive husband, a caring father and grandfather, and a reliable friend. Above all, Dwight was thoughtful and considerate, putting others needs before his own. He will be missed and mourned but also celebrated for a life well-lived.
An active member of Crosspoint Church in Niceville, he was a man of deep faith and also a talented singer in the choir. Dwight was also a skilled golfer, winning many tournaments and club championships in Kentucky, Florida, and beyond. He was a long-time member and officer of Rolling Hills Country Club in Paducah, Kentucky, and later at Rocky Bayou Country Club (RBCC) in Niceville, Florida. As the founding member of the Men’s Golf Association at RBCC, the club’s Member-Guest tournament will be named in his honor.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bobby, parents Ken and Addie Mae, and sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife Annie, son Nick (wife Danielle), daughter Amanda, and sons Alex and Matt (wife Elisa). He was also so very proud of his grandchildren Alexa (husband John), Weston, Julia, and Isabelle.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, September 28th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Crosspoint Church in Niceville, as well as a reception the same day at 3:30 PM at Rocky Bayou Country Club.
