Edward Lowrey Obituary

Edward Inman Lowrey, age 84, of Sterrett, Alabama, passed away March 3, 2023 at Fair Haven Nursing Facility, Birmingham, Alabama.
Ed was born in Miami, Florida, August 4, 1938. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School in Miami Florida in 1956. He attended Broward Junior College for 2 years before joining the Army in 1958. 

Ed met his wife of 52 years, Dolores Curole Lowrey, in New Orleans in 1969. They were married on January 15, 1971. Ed and Dee had two sons, Lance Lowrey (Kristin) and three daughters, Addison 17, Kennedy 15, and Harper 12. Their second son Craig Lowrey and his two daughters Sophia 15 and Stella 13.
Ed worked for General Electric for 20 years and for Telerent Leasing Corporation for 10 years.

He was very involved in the Catholic Church. Ed was a Fourth Degree - Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of the Rotary Club. He was a lector for years and while at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church was the lector coordinator until he moved to the Birmingham area. Ed loved to read and was involved in politics. 

When the boys were younger the whole family enjoyed camping. Ed loved to travel. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Clay Lowrey, Jr., his mother, Beatrice Inman Lowrey, his sisters Martha Jean Lowrey Roquemore, Patrica Lowrey Barney, Linda Lowrey Sands and his brother Henry Clay Lowrey III. 

Ed is survived by his sister Illean Lowrey O’Rouke, his wife, his two sons, his 5 granddaughters and many neice’s and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Ed to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church Building Fund, 1200 Valparaiso Boulevard, Niceville, FL 32578.
