Edward Slick Nathey

Edward “Slick” Nathey, age 83, passed away on June 18, 2022 at his home in Niceville, Florida. Slick was born January 15, 1939 in Houston, Texas, to Willis Johnathan Nathey and Daisy Davis Nathey. His father, Willis, comes from one of the pioneer families that settled the Niceville area. Slick resided in Niceville, FL most of his life. He was an avid golfer for many years, so much that he and his wife Jean built their home in the Rocky Bayou Community on number 13 green. They were original members of the Rocky Bayou Country Club. He served Okaloosa County as a Supervisor of Housing and Urban Development until he retired. He also served in the Army for two years. Slick Nathey is preceded in death by his wife Jean Nathey, father Willis Johnathan Nathey and mother Daisy Davis Nathey. He is survived by his son Frankie Nathey and wife Patti, his daughter Karen Nathey Hall, his grandchildren Jeni Hall Carri, Nicole Nathey and Shane Nathey, his great-grandchildren Kennedy Frazier, Nolan Carri and Myah Nathey, all of Niceville, his siblings Farrell Nathey of New Smyrna Beach and Diane Nathey Luke, of Niceville.
