Elizabeth Dallman Obituary

Ann Dallman, 84, the beloved wife of James (Jim) Dallman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in her hometown of 53 years, Niceville, Florida.

Ann was born September 6, 1939, in Pensacola, Florida to Frank Maloy Dalton and Lottie Bell Ridlehoover. After high school graduation, Ann met her devoted husband Jim, and they were married on April 8, 1959.

Ann was a loving mother to her three children (Sandy, Mike, and Karen) and had a successful 27-year career in civil service. She began her federal career in 1970 when she became a Data Transcriber for the Internal Revenue Center in Utah. During her time in Utah, Jim received transfer orders to Eglin Air Force Base. Ann spent most of her career at Eglin except for a 3-year temporary remote assignment to Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AK. She retired as a Personnel Management Specialist, at Eglin AFB in 1999.

At the Eglin AFB Personnel Office, Ann met her best friend, Cora Ann Cross. The “Two Anns” and their husbands, traveled extensively after retirement, enjoying life on the road in their RVs.

The Anns also shared a love and obsession of Elvis Presley, attending concerts, numerous Elvis Tribute events, and competitions. Ann was beloved by the Elvis Tribute Artists, often receiving a scarf from Elvis without even trying.

When Ann wasn’t having adventures in her RV or chasing her favorite Elvis Tribute Artists across the country, she loved to cook and entertain. If you were lucky, she would make you her “famous” fried chicken. She was also an avid shopper and could “turn some tags” with the best of them. She loved ending a shopping trip with a slice of lemon icebox pie and a cup of coffee.

Her four grandchildren affectionately called her “Doe-Doe” and “Darlin’”. She could be found cheering at a volleyball or soccer game or supporting a school function. Ann loved to spoil her grandchildren and took them on many adventures, including Yellowstone National Park and the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Sandy Hassell (Scott) of Niceville, FL and Karen Knowlton (Doug) of Dade City FL; Son, Mike (Sharon) of Niceville, FL; brother Jimmy Dalton (Frances) of Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law, Roy Alan Dallman (Judi) of Pace, FL; sisters-in-law, Donna M.
