Emilia L. Mihalcik

Emilia Mihalcik, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024 at the age of 99.

Along with her late husband Joe, Emilia raised five remarkable children who grew into successful adults, each carrying forward the values and principles instilled in them by their parents.

A passionate horseback riding instructor, Emilia had many fond memories of nurturing and inspiring countless young riders. Her guidance and encouragement shaped the lives of many, instilling in them not only technical skills but also a profound love for the sport. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she mentored and the many young riders who found their way under her watchful eye. She retained those memories even when other ones were lost. They brought her a sense of peace and comfort.

In addition to her contributions in the equestrian world, she was an exceptional cook whose meals were a testament to her love and generosity. Her family will miss her Polish specialties which included poppyseed roll and her delicious raisin bread. Emilia's green thumb was evident in her lawn and garden. She approached gardening with the same passion and meticulous care that she applied to all areas of her life. Her remarkable work ethic was evident in everything she did.

Emilia is survived by Michael Mihalcik (Donna), Amelia Mihalcik (Bill Eardley), James Mihalcik (Susan), and Lori Groat (Christopher) ,14 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her son Tom, her two beloved sisters Barbara (Aunt Bashi) and Josephine (Aunt Josie), and her bother Eddie.
