Evelyn M. Mullins (née Myers), affectionately known as "Eb," was called home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2024, at the age of 93 in Valparaiso, Florida surrounded by her family. Born on August 30, 1930, in Bomont, West Virginia.
Evelyn enjoyed a fulfilling career, having retired after 20 years of dedicated service at Valparaiso Elementary Lunchroom, where she was beloved by staff, students, and especially her coworkers who became lifelong friends.
Beyond her professional life, Evelyn was a talented and passionate artist. Her creative skills were vast, including painting, drawing, sewing, tatting, crocheting, knitting, and cake decorating. Her ability to create beautiful things brought joy not only to her but also to those around her. Cooking was another of her passions, and she was known for her delicious recipes that brought family and friends together.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Louie (Mary) Mullins of Niceville, FL; daughter, Connie Stumbaugh; granddaughter, Amber (Micheal) Carter; grandson, Zachary (Breanna) Mullins; great-granddaughter, Whitlee Mullins; nephew, Donald Mullins; sister-in-law Rosemary Stowers and brother-in-law Jerry Mullins both of West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friend Susan Cox of Niceville that she loved like a daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel "Moon" Mullins, and son-in-law, Wesley Stumbaugh.
Heritage Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time. The family would like to thank Dr. Weisbruch and his wonderful staff for loving and taking such good care of Evelyn; and Vitas Healthcare especially Dr. Cinderella Aquino, and nurses Katie Vandermarkt, Eratina Opel, Mikayla Miller, and Lacey Goulete.
Evelyn's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she made a lasting impact through her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
Services will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 N Partin Dr. Niceville, FL 32578 on Friday, July 12th. The family will accept friends and family for a visitation at 11:00am and funeral service with Pastor Phil Daniels officiating at noon. Following the service, Evelyn will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, FL.
