Harold Edward Thomas

Harold Edward Thomas was escorted into heaven by God's angels on August 10,
2026, at the age of 93.
Born on February 28, 1933, on a houseboat in New Madrid, Missouri, to Robert
Edward Thomas and Ollie Kate Crouch Thomas. Harold grew up in Savannah,
Tennessee. He proudly served in the Korean War and loved sharing stories from
that chapter of his life.
Harold graduated from Mid-South Bible College, where he met his beautiful bride
and soulmate during a ping-pong game. It was love at first sight-a story he told
often. They married on July 5, 1959, in Alligator, Mississippi. Together they raised
four daughters: Gracia, Jesslyn, Robbye, and Angela. He was a devoted
grandfather to Alexandria, William, Katelynn, and Spencer, and a proud
great-grandfather to Ashley, Natalie, Emilia, Josiah, and Olive.
A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Harold went on to pastor for many
years and dearly loved his church family. One of his proudest achievements was
co-founding Rocky Bayou Christian School alongside his wife and close friends,
Dr. and Mrs. Grete, and Walt Ruckle.
Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Joyce Thomas; his sisters,
Jenny Lewis (Bill Lewis) and Bobbie Franks; and his brothers, Ronald Joe Ricketts
(Cynthia Ricketts), and James Thomas He is survived by his dearly loved brother,
Jerry Thomas (Sarah Thomas), along with his daughters, Gracia, Jesslyn (Terry
Gastauer), Robbye (William Randall), and Angela (Wesley Randall),
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends
who will miss him deeply.
Our father modeled Christ for us and was diligent in sharing Jesus with us every
single day. As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says: "And these words that I command you
today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children."
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Harold's life at Rocky Bayou Baptist
Church- 2401 North Partin Dr, Niceville, Florida 32578 on Saturday, August 22.
Viewing begins at 12:00 pm and funeral service begins at 1:00 pm. Burial will
immediately follow the funeral services. A reception will be held afterward in the
church's reception hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation be made in his honor
to Rocky Bayou Christian School.
