James Wright Obituary

James "Jim" Wright passed away on September 21, 2023 with his loving wife Cindy by his side. Jim was born in Bellflower, California to Larry and Velva Wright. He grew up in La Habra, California. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years. Jim was a kind-hearted “giant of a man”, as he taught his granddaughters to call him. His friends all called him “Big Jim”.

Jim loved sports and could always give you game scores and player stats. He played baseball while in college and enjoyed playing golf with his military buddies. He was a collector of many things. Jim's family and friends meant the world to him, he would drop everything to help them. Jim truly loved his fur babies. If he was in his chair, you could bet one of them was right there beside him.

He always looked forward to trips to the mountains. Jim will be forever loved and missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother Velva Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Alford Wright; step-children Melissa Lambert Johnson (Chafin) and Nicholas Lambert; grandchildren Kaelyn Johnson and Lilyana Speed; father Larry Wright; sister Lori Wright; nephew Trevor Ellison; niece Brittany Ellison; many cousins, and his fur babies, Sugar, Arnie, Fozzie Scruffy and Ollie.

A grave site service will be announced later.
