Jeramy Dobkins Obituary

Jeramy Ryan Dobkins was born on September 17, 1986 in Danville, Illinois; He is the son of Marvin and Jeanne(Attebery) Dobkins. He attended and graduated from Hoopeston Area High School in 2005 and went on to continue his education earning his Associates degree from Parkland Community College.  Jeramy was a Man of dedication and service. He spent 16 years in law enforcement, reaching the pinnacle of his career as a School Resource Officer (SRO). His professional achievements were numerous, from spearheading Project Fortify Florida, a program adopted by all schools in the state, to being a featured speaker on the Excellence in Training podcast.

He was well known for his motto “It’s your job to make sure your partner goes home at night.” He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Illinois Dept. of Transportation DUI Safety award, the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists Top Performer Award, and the Jeremy Chambers Top Gun Award. Jeramy was a certified defensive tactics instructor, certified hostage negotiator, and Florida general instructor for agency and recruits, among many other roles. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Jeramy enjoyed working on cars, spending time on the lake with his family, playing golf, and listening to live music. Jeramy enjoyed time spent shooting at the gun range.

Jeramy's family was his anchor and cherished every moment spent with them. He was a fierce protector of his sister and found joy in participating in plays with his brother. Boating and tubing at the lake were sources of many happy memories for the brothers and the rest of the family. Being an uncle was a role that brought immense joy to Jeramy’s life. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. Jeramy was an amazing dad to Brianna. He helped her with schoolwork and coached her through softball. He loved helping her with homework, particularly math, because it was so easy for him. The love of Jeramy’s life was Stephanie. From the first moment they met, they knew they were soulmates. They enjoyed coffee dates, spending hours at the arcade, dinners on the beach, browsing at hardware stores, and doing anything as long as they were together. They loved each other fiercely.
