John Charlie Eagle departed this earth to join his beloved wife on September 28, 2025, in Niceville, Florida. John was the only child out of five in his family to be born in a hospital and that major event happened in Mooresville, North Carolina. John met and married Patricia in Dover, Delaware. Together they raised four children, Daniel, Sheri, David, and Lisa.
John was a quiet and simple man who proudly served 27 years in the United States Air Force. Foremost, he was a family man and incorporated this in his military life by never letting a service person that was away from home to be without family or friends, his door was always open. Family was important to John, so if you were lucky to get to know him, you became family. He made his home a comfortable gathering place, his yard a lush garden and the pool an oasis for all to enjoy. John knew his neighbors, and they knew him and, in a world where people are hesitant to reach out, he took the first step, he watched over all the families on his street. He would always have a story to share with everyone because he had 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren that were beautiful, artistic, athletic, genius’ and talented beyond belief! After his retirement from the Air Force, John worked at Eglin Golf Course and Camp Timpoochee, both in Niceville.
John was preceded in death by is loving wife, Patricia, his son, Daniel Eagle, parents Charlie and Susie Eagle, sister Shirley Flowe, brother Bill Eagle, and other extended family members. He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Kee and Margaret Sherrill. His daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Adrian DuBois, son and daughter-in-law David and Valerie Eagle, daughter Lisa Armstong. Grandchildren Sarah and Chris Hodges (Kristy [Matt], Ethan, Aidan, Alice), Melanie and Alan Hazard (Giana, Desmond, Skylar), Adrian and Chrissy DuBois (Isabelle [Brady] Adrian, Micah, Isaiah, Alina, Elijah), Britni and Aaron Denney (Collins), Austin and Taylor Eagle (Remington, Taelynn, Tyndall), Caylee and Adam Morgan (Rylen, Parker). His beloved fur baby, Roxy, misses him dearly.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, compassion, friendship, and the sharing stories of dad. Your kindness will always be part of the love and memories of our dad, grandpa, papaw, and great grandpa.
